Dr. Dimler is passionate about working with people in the perinatal stage. Whether you are currently pregnant, postpartum (4th trimester), or chasing a toddler, so much is happening in your brain and body. It can be such an exciting time, and it can also be a scary, overwhelming, or even miserable at times. As a mom of two young children herself, Dr. Dimler understands the importance of providing a non-judgmental, non-shaming space for individuals expecting or currently raising a child. There is so much to process and learn about in terms of coping and taking care of yourself as you take care of another tiny human. If you are struggling with postpartum depression, anxiety, eating/body image issues, or you do not know what to call it but just know you are struggling, please reach out.

Disordered Eating and Body Image

Dr. Dimler has 10+ years experience working with individuals struggling with disordered eating and/or body image. She has worked across levels of care, including residential and partial hospitalization treatment at the Klarman Eating Disorders Center at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School. She utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, including body image acceptance. This means that Dr. Dimler focuses on teaching individuals how to identify patterns of thinking and feeling about food and/or body and develop mindfulness and acceptance skills that assist with making choices that are more aligned with their values than their eating disorder. Dr. Dimler practices from a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework, keeps up to date with what science teaches us about our bodies, and does not subscribe to diet culture.
